As a recent graduate of William & Mary, I fully understand current students, since I was just one myself. My strong academic record indicates my ability to stay organized and accomplish tasks independently or with others.
My time as an executive officer on my sports club team also placed me in a position to mentor and teach others, though in an athletic environment rather than an academic one. Similarly, I supported the growth of younger students by coordinating the mentor program for my scholarship group, for which I paired upper and underclassmen and arranged program-wide events. These roles required self-motivated work and reflect my confidence in taking on responsibility. I am detail-oriented, reliable, and deeply familiar with mentoring and tutoring students.
I served as a consultant at the William & Mary writing center for over three years, and I spent an entire semester in training to learn about tutoring pedagogy from the writing center director, who holds a doctorate in the field. While my undergraduate experiences skewed towards the humanities, I also excelled in and enjoy teaching math. I am currently studying for the GRE and have extensive experience helping students with both verbal and math test prep.
