Hi! My name is Kevin. I finished my undergraduate studies in the United States, where I graduated from Princeton University with a major in chemical engineering and a minor in Spanish. I’m currently researching new paradigms for pre-clinical drug discovery at Imperial College London in the UK. Since an early age, I have loved science and mathematics. In fifth grade, I begged my teacher to introduce me to algebra, and in college, I’ve taken almost every STEM course from astrophysics to zoology. Therefore, one of the joys of mentoring students for me is the opportunity to share the beauty and elegance that I find in science.
I’m a pretty restless person, and I always strive to learn, whether it’s an unusual cooking technique or how I can put more spin into my tennis forehand. I think my curiosity really drives my ambition while also keeping me open-minded.
I have been tutoring for over four years in advanced STEM subjects. When it comes to teaching STEM, I train my students to be problem solvers rather than masters of memory. Everything in science and mathematics was deduced from observations and logic, and I believe working on problem-solving can make STEM feel a lot more intuitive. It is also one of my priorities to show my students how the things they learn are applicable in their daily lives.
I also specialize in essay writing and college applications. As a first-generation college student, I recognize that the application process can be very opaque. Having previously worked with the admissions team at Princeton, I have the expertise to know what colleges are looking for and how you can best demonstrate your strengths.
