I am originally from North Carolina but currently reside in Connecticut. My parents are both naval veterans, which allowed me and my siblings to move around a lot, which, then, was a lot of fun. Ever since I was a kid, I've always been passionate about academics. As I got older, I became more passionate about giving back to all those who have given to me to allow me to get to where I am today. In the past, this has come in the form of being a mathematics teacher intern at Breakthrough New Haven, a program that aims to provide youth from low-income families with the tools necessary to assist them in matriculating to top tier college preparatory schools; I went through the program myself. I've also gone back to my middle school to tutor. Furthermore, at Princeton, I have had the privilege of tutoring kids in the local area.
My strengths lie in the STEM field, namely, mathematics and chemistry. Upon graduating, I plan to assume a position as an associate material engineer and hope to obtain a master's or two–MBA and/or MScEng. Here, at school, I also have the opportunity of working in the Frist Campus Center, the student hub on-campus. There, I am a building supervisor. Our job is to ensure that our patrons are getting the most out of the building, making sure that their stay is a pleasant one. This experience has allowed me to develop my interpersonal skills, which are quintessential for efficacy in tutoring. I believe that being able to connect with students one-on-one is what allows successful tutors to drive home the material, ensuring that their students retain the material well past imminent examinations and the like. I look forward to using my past experiences to excel as a tutor and ensure the academic success of your children.
