Hi, my name is Josh and I'm Princeton University Class of 2013. I've been tutoring for a long time (13 years), starting when I was a sophomore in high school. In high-school I tutored classmates and students in nearby towns in Math and English. But then my life took a major detour.I enlisted in the U.S. Army in 2003 and served overseas until 2009–mostly based in Europe. During that time I was quickly promoted to Sergeant and in charge of the training of newer soldiers for several years. My specific job as a Signals Intelligence Analyst and I became certified in 2006 as an instructor with the National Cryptologic school (a school for analytic work at the National Security Agency). For my remaining time with the government, I not only served as an intelligent analyst but also traveled throughout Europe giving intelligence training to groups of adults (ages 18-50) for about 6 weeks each year.Since coming to Princeton, I've been active in theater on campus (I served as the Vice President of the Triangle Club–The nation's oldest student-written musical comedy troupe), as well as with the Model UN team. Academically, I'm majoring in the Woodrow Wilson School of International Affairs and Policy, and my senior and junior independent research has been on how U.S. Embassies are using social media platforms to conduct diplomacy. Several of my suggested improvements have already been enacted by the State Department! After I graduate, I will likely return to government work, although I am currently considering several different careers in the D.C. area. I will also likely continue to tutor on the side, as I have always found teaching to be one of the most fulfilling parts of my life.
