Hello! My name is Joseph, and I’m an undergraduate at Harvard studying Statistics. Originally, I’m from Italy and Egypt, but grew up in the wonderful city of New York.
For my high school years, I went to The Bronx High School of Science, one of NYC’s Specialized Public High Schools. Given the wide diversity of the student body there, and the sheer size of the school (appx. 750 per year!), I was exposed to how easily students who don’t receive the necessary academic support can fall through the cracks. This pushed me to seek opportunities to tutor when in high school, and to continue doing so today!
Outside of academics, I’m quite active as a researcher, passionate about harnessing the potential of Machine Learning techniques and Data Science to solve issues in public health and climate change. I’m also a huge soccer fan, a given thanks to my heritage, with my favorite team being Inter Milan. I very much looking forward to meeting you!
