My name is Haeun, and I am a student at Harvard concentrating in Social Studies and Philosophy with a secondary in Spanish. Outside of academic interests, I am an avid maker and consumer of music of all sorts.
A little bit more about my tutoring background and experience– I was an academic tutor at the Harvard Summer School in the Summer of 2021, tutoring Harvard undergraduate courses (Microeconomics and Comparative Politics) to both Harvard students and high school students. I have also tutored a number of students ranging from fourth to twelfth grades as an online tutor in subjects that vary from Spanish to Algebra to SAT prep. In addition, I have been a private violin instructor since high school. I believe that the skills of patience, flexibility, and creative problem solving that are required of violin instruction are easily transferable to academic tutoring.
I believe that my most valuable asset is my substantial personal experience with standardized testing. In high school, I took and aced 18 AP tests, two SAT Subject Tests, and the ACT. Each of these tests and perfect scores are accompanied by countless hours spent studying and preparing for them. Through this, I have developed a systematic approach to these tests and believe that if proper work is invested, anyone is capable of performing perfectly (or close to) on standardized tests. I would be excited to share these tips with you and help you realize your full potential.
