I have been an academic as long as I can remember. I took to math and physics at an early age, a love that eventually brought me to Princeton University, where I earned my A.B. in Physics.
I have been very fortunate throughout my academic career, in particular to have had teachers who took the time and the energy to take academic material and present it in a way that was accessible to me. This has always greatly informed the way in which I approach tutoring—not only as the task of teaching a student, but as a greater exercise in determining the best method for teaching the particular student. Thus, I approach every session with patience and empathy. It is important to me that students feel both comfortable making mistakes and empowered to correct these mistakes.
All of this makes me a particularly effective tutor for students with atypical learning styles, as well as those who have been diagnosed with attention deficits. As far as topics, my current specialties include physics, mathematics, and SAT/ACT prep.
In my free time, I love to create. I’ll spend my time working on anything from a work of art—a crude sketch or a piece of choreography—to something more utile, like a computer program or a wooden nightstand. I also greatly enjoy solving problems of all sorts. Ask me what puzzle I have on my mind if you have time for a lecture.
