We’re especially proud of the fact that other educators (teachers and professors) and high profile members of the Princeton University Administration trust us with their children’s academic success and recommend our services to others.
We have a 15+ year track record of supporting students in middle school Latin & high school Latin (e.g. regular Latin, Honors Latin, AP Latin, SAT Latin Subject Test).
Our private 1-on-1 Latin tutors have received awards for the National Latin Exam, served as teaching assistants for college-level courses, developed Latin curriculum for middle schools, and received PhDs in Latin.

What parents say about our Latin tutors
Our team includes award-winning Princeton University undergrads and Master’s/PhD graduates who are rigorously screened and are extremely effective at communicating the material.
A brief “case study”:
One of our existing clients reached out to us to help her high schooler complete a summer Latin 200 course.
We matched the student with Alex, a certified teacher who has been teaching Latin for nearly twenty years. Alex studied Latin and Greek at Skidmore College and has a Master’s of Education from Fordham University.
After summer ended, the mother shared with us this note:
“I wanted to express my gratitude for Ralph being matched up with Alex, because of his high level of skill Ralph managed to pass his Latin summer course.”
We receive messages like these every week.
We regularly track progress
Progress reports are shared after every session so you always know what’s going on.
A Real-Life Example:
Student: Jalen
Tutor: Paul
Subject(s): Latin
Date: 3/31
Time Tutored: 16:00 – 17:00
Next Scheduled Session: 4/28 2:00 PM
Material Covered:
As Jalen is on Spring Break and hasn’t covered much new material in his Latin class, we focused on reviewing the content from the latest chapter. This specifically entailed covering the Third Conjugation Future tense.
It’s common for a first-year Latin student to get a bit jumbled when reviewing the many verb conjugations in Latin, and so we spent this session focusing on Latin verb forms – specifically First Conjugation Present, Future, Imperfect, and Perfect. Jalen has had a lot of success with physical flashcards, so we used this approach for mastering these verb forms. Over break, if Jalen is willing, I would encourage him to review these flashcards and consider writing out the 2nd and 3rd Conjugations on flashcards to review. It will be a great way to work through the often-confusing verb forms.
Assignments for Next Week:
Jalen is doing a really great job, and I’m thrilled to hear that his last test went well! He has a very smart mind and is picking material up very quickly (especially when he uses physical flashcards). Keep up the good work!

LEARN HOW WE CAN HELPAddresses common student issues
A deep understanding of the subject matter allows us to personalize our approach.
Why is Latin important?
Latin is slightly different from most foreign languages in that the objective is to be able to translate from an ancient text. Therefore, the focus is on reading and writing, rather than speaking.
Learning Latin is useful because it has applications to many other languages. It helps in determining root words and therefore guessing the meaning of words (which is great for the SAT) and makes learning other languages easier too. However, it is a notoriously difficult language to master.
Why do some students struggle with Latin?
Many of our students struggle more with Latin than any other language. Sometimes, this has to do with difficult teachers. It can also have something to do with the language itself. Latin involves a great deal of declension and conjugation, which means that much information about time, what is happening, etc. is conveyed through word endings – much more so than in English. It also has six defined tenses, which can be tricky to master.
