Max

Hi! I’m Maxine (Max), a Harvard undergrad majoring in math and computer science. I have been tutoring since middle school, and I love helping students with math, English/creative writing, and test prep. Outside of academics, I’m passionate about building socially responsible technology! I’ve had the opportunity to work on research in sustainable engineering and data privacy, and I currently co-head Harvard’s Tech & Global Health Initiative. I also attended Phillips Exeter Academy on a Caroline D. Bradley scholarship, so if you’re curious about boarding school or that application process, I’m happy to share my experiences. I was also a competitive classical pianist and love talking about anything music!

A little about why I tutor: Throughout elementary school, I struggled so much that I barely managed to pass my school’s benchmark tests each year. Thanks to my amazing teachers and supportive parents, who believed in my potential, I caught up. My mission is now to be as helpful and supportive to my students as my teachers were for me—I realize that tutoring is as much about building confidence as it is about competence. I know how it feels to be on the other side!
