Max

My name is Max, and I’m a medical student at Western Michigan University. I graduated from Dartmouth College with a Neuroscience degree and grew up in Northern Michigan. I have played the trumpet in jazz bands, marching bands, and symphony orchestras, and my other hobbies include playing soccer and wake surfing. My passion for teaching started early because I had two younger sisters and was often tasked with helping them with their homework.

I started tutoring professionally via Zoom when COVID sent everybody’s school online, and I have been coaching students on test prep (MCAT, SAT/ACT), math, science, and pre-med topics since 2020. I also create lessons and carry them out at local school visits, introducing middle and high school students to neuroscience topics through a program at my medical school.

My path to medicine requires standardized tests every few years, so I have to keep my test-taking skills and knowledge base sharp, and I love how tutoring allows me to simultaneously share these skills with others while further mastering them myself.
