Hi, I’m Adelina! I am a current PhD candidate at Columbia University in the Earth and Environmental Sciences department. I graduated from Princeton University with a Bachelor’s degree in Chemistry and a minor in Environmental Studies. As a tutor, I am most comfortable teaching chemistry and math at the high-school level. I am a patient and kind tutor, and I am LGBTQ+ friendly as well.
I am passionate about communicating concepts in a way that is as accessible and engaging as possible for every student I meet. While at Princeton, I was first a student and later a tutor for organic chemistry; this experience allowed me to understand how important it is for students to have a welcoming and encouraging presence around when learning.
I also have four years of experience being a camp counselor; I’ve worked with elementary-school, middle-school, and high-school aged youth. Summer camp settings can be incredibly unpredictable, and as a result, those experiences have strengthened my flexibility, patience, and value for different perspectives.
Outside of tutoring, I enjoy sewing, embroidery, and pretty much anything else that is hands-on and creative. I also like to read sci-fi and sleep in on the weekends!
