Simone

I am a graduate of Princeton University originally from Chicago with passion for literature, arts, and teaching. Throughout high school, I tutored low-income students learning English as a second language, and found the mentoring experience and my students’ growing love of English extremely valuable. Currently, I tutor adults learning English as a second language, and have learned much from them about the qualities of the language and the refugee/immigrant experience.

I love reading for pleasure, hiking, urban exploring, yoga, and creative writing. This past year, I had the opportunity to travel to Rome, Berlin, and Amsterdam for Princeton research projects, and I am hoping to continue incorporating travel into my education. I am interested in journalism, law, and public policy.

As a tutor, I hope to help my students identify their motivations, recognize their strengths, and build an integrated set of learning strategies that go beyond a given subject. I am patient, compassionate, and have a genuine love for learning that I try to share with my students. I find joy in watching my students grow and believe that tutoring should be holistic, addressing the social, cultural, and emotional aspects of learning. I look forward to continuing to grow as both a student and a teacher through the experience of tutoring.
