Private SAT Tutoring

Since 2005, we have helped numerous students improve their confidence and scores on the SAT. Our clients have even included other professionals in the field of education - teachers, Ivy League professors, and members of the Princeton University administration. Whether your child is taking the SAT for the first time or is looking to fine-tune a specific section, our exceptional private SAT tutors will create a customized approach tailored specifically for your needs. After each session, you'll receive a detailed progress report to track your child's improvement on the SAT (view a real recap from one of our SAT tutoring sessions).

If you're like one of our many students who are deciding between the SAT or ACT, you can take advantage of diagnostic tests to help you decide

What Parents Say about Our SAT Tutors

Both our parents and students have benefited from the peace-of-mind that comes from working with such top-notch tutors. We think our track record speaks for itself. Here are just a few of many testimonials from happy parents:

“Dear Greg, I wanted to let you know that it was a real pleasure for my son P to work with Alan. He found Alan very well prepared as a tutor, easy to talk to, and he learned quite a bit from him. For me, Alan was always punctual, very respectful and maintained a very good channel of communication. We are very pleased with him and we'll continue to recommend you for SAT preparation.”

“Dear Lisa and Greg, With the end of the year activities, I forgot to share E's May SAT scores with you.

Jan SAT: 470 CR, 550 M, 560 W... Mar SAT: 510 CR, 610 M, 660 W... May SAT: 630 CR, 620 M, 690 W!

E had set a goal for herself (1900) that was very high considering her first score and surpassed it.

My husband and I couldn't imagine her CR going up that high - We would like to thank Lisa for her hard work, dedication and flexibility. Can we send a 'thank you' gift to you?

We will definitely be coming back in three years with E's sister, J.”

“Hi Greg, We referred David (Robbinsville HS). His parents said that they were pleased with your services and David's progress.

Also, our son O just got his most recent SAT scores: 690 CR, 790M, 740 W (previously 660 CR, 790 M, 650 W). He is now at a 2220 which we are very pleased with. I will write Nico to let him know that his tutoring sessions with O were very beneficial.

Thanks Princeton Tutoring!”

Princeton Tutoring's SAT Methodology

Preparing for standardized tests can be time consuming and frustrating. Large group tutoring classes work well for some. However, the majority of students will benefit significantly from the individualized attention of private one-on-one tutoring.

What is the one most important factor for an increased SAT score?

Practice! If your child is self-motivated and has the time to prepare on his or her own, then there’s actually no need for one of our tutors. Unfortunately, most high school students are busy with an increasingly difficult and time-consuming academic workload, not to mention numerous extracurricular activities.

What are the benefits of private SAT tutoring?

One of the main benefits of our private SAT tutors is to ensure that your child is preparing efficiently to maximize results in the shortest amount of time.

Additionally, while we teach your child the most useful strategies and tips needed to succeed on the SAT, our main focus is on making sure your child truly understands the concepts tested.

The Process:

  1. Diagnostic test from a real College Board exam to accurately identify weaknesses and strengths
  2. Development of customized curriculum
  3. One-on-one tutoring sessions to work on problem areas and review strategies
  4. Assignment and review of homework and practice problems
  5. Timed practice tests to track improvement
  6. Practice, review, practice, review, practice

Our SAT tutors actually enjoy taking standardized exams, with many of them scoring perfect scores on the various sections. Some of our tutors teach all three sections; some are math specialists; some are critical reading and writing specialists. Several have founded their own SAT test prep programs and have previously worked for larger test prep companies as teachers, test graders, and consultants.
