What Parents Say about Our ACT Tutors
Both our parents and students have benefited from the peace of mind that comes from working with such top-notch tutors. We think our track record speaks for itself. Here are just a few of many testimonials from happy parents:
“Greg – C just got his ACT score in – he got a composite 33 score – components English 33, Math 34, Reading 29, Science 34 and Combined English/Writing 30 – so it looks pretty good! Thank you and thank you Andrew so much. I think... we will be asking [for your help again] next fall. I think that will be the time to boost some tutoring for the SAT math subject test and another. Thank you 1000 times!.”
Parent of 11th grader, The Lawrenceville School
“D really loved working with Matt through Skype. As you may recall, I was skeptical, but the Skype sessions really worked out well, and I did not have to drive her anywhere! She got a 35 on the ACT, and came out of the SATs last weekend feeling great about it.”
Parent of 11th grader, Princeton High School
“Hi Greg, ... I would like to say that R really liked working with Josh, he was very nice and R was comfortable with him.”

What further differentiates us from the competition is our genuine desire to help your child succeed. Both Kevin and I started tutoring in high school and continued throughout our college years at Princeton and beyond. We chose to tutor because it was extremely rewarding and something we truly enjoyed.
Princeton Tutoring was born out of the early successes of our former clients and our desire to provide high-quality tutoring to other families. We understand better than most what parents are looking for, what children need, and which qualities make the best tutors.
Thank you for considering us. We look forward to speaking with you and working with your child to help fulfill his or her academic potential.
Princeton Tutoring's ACT Methodology
Compared to the SAT, the ACT is a relatively new test. In the past, students took either the SAT or ACT depending on geographical location. However, most schools now accept either the ACT or SAT with increasingly equal preference.
In general, those students who do well academically but aren't as proficient at standardized or reasoning tests may do better on the ACT.
Preparing for standardized tests can be time consuming and frustrating. Large group tutoring classes work well for some. However, the majority of students will benefit significantly from the individualized attention of private one-on-one tutoring.
What is the one most important factor for an increased ACT score?
Practice! If your child is self-motivated and has the time to prepare on his or her own, then there’s actually no need for one of our tutors. Unfortunately, most high school students are busy with an increasingly difficult and time-consuming academic workload, not to mention numerous extracurricular activities.
What are the benefits of private ACT tutoring?
One of the main benefits of our private ACT tutors is to ensure that your child is preparing efficiently to maximize results in the shortest amount of time.
Additionally, while we teach your child the most useful strategies and tips needed to succeed on the ACT, our main focus is on making sure your child truly understands the concepts tested.
- Diagnostic test using real materials from the creators of the ACT to accurately identify weaknesses and strengths
- Development of customized curriculum
- One-on-one tutoring sessions to work on problem areas and review strategies
- Assignment and review of homework and practice problems
- Timed practice tests to track improvement
- Practice, review, practice, review, practice!
Our ACT tutors enjoy taking standardized exams. Several have founded their own test prep programs and have previously worked for larger test prep companies as teachers, test graders, and consultants.
