Academic Subject Tutoring
Since 2005, we have helped students improve their confidence and grades in almost every subject offered in middle and high school. Combined with our test prep and college counseling services, we provide the most comprehensive program to increase your child’s chances of acceptance to his or her dream college. Our clients have even included other professionals in the field of education - teachers, Ivy League professors, and members of the Princeton University administration. Whether your child is struggling or simply looking for enrichment tutoring, our exceptional private tutors will create a customized approach tailored specifically for your needs. After each session, you’ll receive a detailed progress report to track your child’s improvement (view a real recap from one of our Algebra 2 tutoring sessions).
What Parents Say about Our Academic Subject Tutors
The parent of a seventh grader from John Witherspoon Middle School contacted us because her daughter was struggling after transferring from a Montessori school. Our goals were to improve her math skills, writing skills, NJ ASK scores, and general study and organizational skills. We matched the daughter with Grace, an art history major at Princeton University who had previously founded her own summer tutoring program. Here’s what the parent said:
“I wanted to take time out and thank you for providing such an exceptional service. My daughter has benefited tremendously from her work with Grace. Her confidence and grades have both been on the rise, and her ability to handle new situations or subjects has greatly improved. The study skills she has been taught have not only helped her in the subject she found challenging, but they have helped her with all her academic pursuits...thank you once again for making a difference in my daughter’s academic life.”

What further differentiates us from the competition is our genuine desire to help your child succeed. Both Kevin and I started tutoring in high school and continued throughout our college years at Princeton and beyond. We chose to tutor because it was extremely rewarding and something we truly enjoyed.
Princeton Tutoring was born out of the early successes of our former clients and our desire to provide high-quality tutoring to other families. We understand better than most what parents are looking for, what children need, and which qualities make the best tutors.
Thank you for considering us. We look forward to speaking with you and working with your child to help fulfill his or her academic potential.
The Importance of Doing Well Academically
The goal of most any parent is for their child to gain admission to the best school possible. The best way to do this is to address each of the major items required on the college application, including:
- Academic performance
- Standardized test scores
- Application essays
- Extracurricular and summer activities
- Letters of recommendation
Some of our clients make the mistake of focusing too much on standardized tests such as the SAT and ACT, since they are relatively easy to prepare for in a short amount of time. While these test scores are very important, choosing the appropriate courses and doing well academically is just as important or more so. Students who get great grades over the course of four years have demonstrated that they will be able to handle the academic courseload over the long term at a college level. The student who scores in the 99th percentile of the SAT but has a D average will struggle much more in the college admissions process. If your child starts to fall behind, please contact us and we’ll help get your child back on track.
