Throughout my academic career I have frequently found myself in the role of teacher, whether it be formally tutoring fellow students or simply guiding my four younger siblings through frustrating homework assignments. In my senior year of high school I volunteered as a Peer Tutor, helping freshmen and sophomores with their writing and coursework in English, Biology, Chemistry, History and Math. I went to a small Jewish private school, and took a gap year before Princeton to study Judaic texts intensively in Israel. At Princeton I am concentrating in Evolutionary Biology (which has been a lifelong passion) but also love exploring philosophy, politics and poetry. I spent the past summer as a Field Assistant on an island in Panama, conducting research on cooperative breeding in tropical birds. I find teaching deeply satisfying, and am always inspired by the determination of the students. I am patient, caring, creative, reliable and get really excited about learning. I hope to bring all of those skills to bear to connect with students and make my sessions interesting, engaging and effective.

I come from a close-knit family that values education as well as collaboration. This is where my passion for tutoring comes from. Throughout high school I helped run my school's tutoring program, and it was an activity I found very fulfilling and meaningful. I felt a personal investment in my students' achievements, which translated into their improvement and success. My areas of expertise include history (US and European), chemistry, math, and standardized testing, but I'm always looking for ways to broaden my horizons!

Hey! I'm Sarah, and I'm currently studying history at Princeton. I'm from Brooklyn, New York, and I love reading good fantasy books and working on my art (by which, okay, I mean adult coloring books, but no judging)! I've always loved tutoring, and I've spent the past three summers designing curricula and teaching summer classes to high school students. My favorite subjects are history and art history, but I have experience teaching everything from chemistry, biology, and earth science to Jewish Philosophy. I've also spent a few years now tutoring students for the SAT and ACT. When I was a high school student, I tried to make the SAT fun for myself. When I came across a particularly interesting reading passage, I would go to the local library and read the whole book the passage originated from. I know, a little nerdy, but I did find good books that way. I've also worked as a camp counselor and a special needs therapist, and I love connecting with, helping, and learning from everyone I can. I find tutoring to be a great way to do this!

Hi, I'm Isabel and I'm a junior in the History department at Princeton. I'm also pursuing a certificate in American Studies to study America and the making of a citizen, through the academic intersections of philosophy, sociology, politics and history. This summer I was abroad in South Africa taking a course in consulting and working at Accenture. The experience was wonderful because I got to spend time outdoors hiking and surfing, while also learning something at the same time!

My greatest experience with teaching is likely just having a younger sister - we are two years apart and have a very close relationship. My mom teaches Preschool, my dad teaches high school/adult education, and I myself believe that the most impactful people in life are teachers that understand their students and lead a commendable example. Aside from tutoring primarily through Aristotle Circle, I spent a great deal of time writing/playing/listening to music. I'm passionate about music as well as academic exploration and will likely end up in a career that allows for interdisciplinary variance. Travel is a huge part of my life and I've enjoyed visiting family in the Philippines and performing with my orchestra in Prague and Vienna. Curiosity and worldly experience fuel my drive to become as educated as possible, and my desire to help others makes tutoring a natural outlet.
